Hello, I'm Elizabeth.  I initially trained as a nurse and midwife.  I joined CMS and worked in Uganda for several years, which was very rewarding.

On returning to the UK, I then moved into Palliative Care, working in Preston and following retirement became a member of Diocesan World Mission Group and am a spiritual directin the Diocese.  I was Licenced as a Lay Reader in 2007.  I enjoy singing in the church choir.

Kathryn Sperring

Hello, I'm Kathryn.  I lead the Sunday Club, children and youth clubs.

I am married to Trevor and we have 3 teenage children.  I enjoy reading, gardening, walking our dog, Toby, and drinking tea!

My favourite Bible verse is Psalm 143. 'This morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you, show me the way I should go, for You I lift up my soul'.

Mark Bennett

Hello, I'm Mark.  I was born in Garstang and I have been Organist and Choirmaster at St Thomas' since 1979.  My responsibility is choosing the music sung by the choir at services and rehearsing with the choir.  I retired as an accountant in 2009.

I have been married to my wife, Gwen, for 43 years.  In addition to my interest in the organ, piano, church and classical music, my many interests include natural history, ornithology, gardening, photography, fell and dog walking!

David Holmes

Safeguarding Advisor

Hello, I'm David, I have been a member of St Thomas' Church along with my wife Judith for the past 16 years.  I retired from the police force 2 years ago and completed my C2 Safeguarding Training for St Thomas' Church in June 2017.  My role is to try and make sure children, young people and vulnerable adults are safe within the life of St Thomas' Church.  If you have any concerns in relation to safeguarding, please come and speak to me.

In my spare time I enjoy walking my labrador dog around Garstang.  I am a Scout Leader and a long suffering Preston North End supporter.
